Goodbye Chimney

There has been much discussion about pretty much every inch of our home. Our chimney alone has been the focal point for hours of discussion. The beautiful brick look of it vs. well, the room it will take up in the garage, and the room it takes up on the porch and the sun it may take away from the solar, the general lack of safety associated with chimneys and earthquakes, the fact

that we won't be able to burn wood anymore in it anyhow...
Believe it or not I was torn until just two weeks ago. I am a waffler. But as you can see here, Sean is not.
We have decided to re-use the brick for our driveway. Already now the bricks are cleaned and stacked and waiting their new phase in life. & the good news is, as you may be able to tell from the photos, Sean is damn good at the demolishing of things.
